Leading UK hair brand, Pantene Pro-V, today announces a new charity partnership with Cancer Hair Care, a UK charity dedicated to helping women living with hair loss through cancer treatment. The partnership will result in helpful new resources for women seeking information and will expand the charity’s reach nationwide.
Over 100,000+ women in the UK deal with hair loss issues following cancer treatment each year. With over 60 years of hair expertise, Pantene Pro-V is partnering with Cancer Hair Care to help women across the UK. In addition to an initial charity donation, Pantene Pro-V is creating a limited edition pack across its Classic Care range to raise much needed funds. It will be available in store from August, so everyone can do their bit to help; 1 pack = 1 donation.
In a quest to raise awareness for the charity’s invaluable work, Pantene Pro-V Ambassador Cat Deeley will be the celebrity face of the partnership, helping to spread the word about the support the charity offers. Cat has been working and filming with a group of women who have lived with hair loss through cancer treatment, all of whom have enormously benefitted from the Cancer Hair Care charity and wish to now share their tips and support with other women:
“Often one of the first things women think about when they’ve been diagnosed with cancer is losing their hair. They believe it’s a symbol of their femininity and health, so to start losing it becomes a huge hurdle. Working with these lovely ladies made me realise how little help there was out there. The work Cancer Hair Care is doing, together with Pantene Pro-V’s support, is absolutely invaluable. I am so proud that as a part of my ambassador role, I am able to help promote awareness about this wonderful charity.” Cat Deeley, Pantene Pro-V Ambassador
Cancer Hair Care is dedicated to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of women experiencing hair loss through cancer treatments. It provides support, education and practical advice for women, while also working to educating the public in all areas related to hair loss associated with cancer treatment. In addition, the charity works to provide education and training programs for hair professionals and healthcare workers.
As part of Pantene Pro-V’s support to Cancer Hair Care, free new information resources will be made available on its new website (www.cancerhaircare.com) including ‘Talking Heads TV’ - step by step videos – useful guidance sheets and support videos from women who have themselves experienced hair loss through cancer treatment.
“We are thrilled to announce this new venture with Pantene Pro-V. Having founded the charity in 2005, it’s a huge asset to us as a small, growing charity to work with a brand with such huge awareness. Cancer Hair Care will be seen across every pack of Pantene Pro-V Classic Care and through the valuable funds this will raise we want to reach more women living with hair loss through cancer.
We know hair loss happens at home, so we provide women with our unique online support service that they can tap into in the comfort of their own homes. Within all of our work we have worked really hard to evoke a sense of togetherness. We feel that this means that no woman has to face up to hair loss alone - together we can make hair loss one less worry.”– Jasmin Julia Gupta Founder, Cancer Hair Care
The Pantene Pro-V Classic Care range will feature the Cancer Hair Care logo on pack from August, with 5 pence of every sale going directly to the charity.
