Going for grey

Grey seems to be the colour of choice for many celebrities at the moment! First Kate Moss caused a stir weeks ago with her grey roots, and now many more have followed her lead. Singers Kelis and Ellie Goulding are the latest addition to the pack, but who works the look best? Kelis with her grey mane, or Ellie with her grey/blonde combo?!

If you want a colour that will make you stand out from the crowd try out a red shade. With everyone else blonde or brunette it's a great alternative. I died my hair the brightest red I could find because I'm really dark and my hair has never been shinier.

I always wanted to go platinum blonde – I'm dark brunette, so not an easy transition – and had to return to the salon three times to get it to the right shade. I conditioned it like mad and it looked lovely. It took a lot of looking after though.

I love Alexa Chung's smudged in ends – she looks gorgeous and the colour almost looks natural. I asked my colourist to give it a go and she smudged the colour in and had to keep checking all time. It turned out brilliantly in the end!
