dying blonde at home...Help

Postby jojobeanz » Fri Nov 04, 2011 12:22 am

Hi,
I'm new here and I'm sure this has been discussed a million times. Basically I have been to the salon twice over the last year-ish and have had a full head of blonde highlights, few tones etc. I have naturally dark brown hair. The problem is now I just cannot afford the salon any more. My highlights have gone slightly dark borderline organey and my roots are dark and tacky. I desperately want to re colour and lose the roots and have nice blonde hair. I'm just scared about doing it myself, iv DIY dyed before but with reds or pink so no big deal. I need to know how can I sort out the roots and length without it looking mis matched? Is there any brand you would recommend? Is it possible to achieve some multi toning at home? I have below the shoulder thick hair. After the salon it is nearly platinum with lowlights etc but I quite like honey shades with brighter shades too.
I know I should just fork out the money but I really can't afford to. If anyone can help it'd be ah-mazing.
Thanks XxX ps I live in Ire but imagine we get all the same brands as the UK.

I naturally have light brown hair + have had salon highlights, so my hair is medium blonde. I used John Frieda foam colour in Ash Blonde + it worked really well on top of the highlights, getting rid of roots + keeping the different tones.
