1 Catch it early!
Keeping flyaways at bay needs to start with your cleansing routine. Start by washing your hair with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner designed to keep frizz to a mininum. Using a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week will also keep your locks smooth.

 
2 Damp proofing 
After washing your hair, pat it dry with a towel rather than rubbing it vigorously to keep the hair cuticle flat. Then, work a blob of straightening balm through your hair and comb through. If your hair's particularly unruly, mix the balm with a few drops of serum for the ultimate in frizz-fighting.
 
3 Blowdry benefits
Your hair will stay smooth and sleek for longer if you blowdry your hair straight before straightening rather than just trying to tame it with irons. Invest in a round brush to blowdry your hair smooth, and direct the heat from your dryer down the hair shaft to keep it sleek.
 
4 Smooth operator 
When your hair is completely dry, divide your hair into sections and run through with straighteners to get it really smooth. Don't forget to use a heat protection spray to protect your hair too - damaged locks are more likely to get frizzy.
 
5 Shine on 
The final step in your styling routine is to smooth a few drops of serum through your mid-lengths and ends to banish frizz. If you get frizz at the crown, spritz a light mist of hairspray over your hair to keep it sleek. Finish with a quick dose of shine spray and you're good to go!
