Taylor Swift works a messy updo

1. To achieve this messy updo, apply mousse to wet hair and scrunch it up whilst blowdrying. Separate hair into three sections using a thin comb – one from each side of the head and leaving one at the back. Clip the front two bits away from the back for now and tie the back section half way down into a very loose ponytail with a small band.

2. Using bits from the lower half of the ponytail, loosely twist and clip strands of hair to the nape of the neck. Now take half of one of the front sections and bring it across the back of the head, twist and clip with the other bits. Do the same with half of the other side, twisting it around so that the back section is now a mass of twists.

3. Gradually bring all remaining bits of hair to the back, leaving only a couple of strands framing the face, which you should curl to complete the look before combing the top of the hair so it’s smooth and sleek. Spray with plenty of hairspray to secure and make sure you have plenty of clips should any bits fall loose.
