I want soft curls

My hair's naturally curly and when I add products to it they just turn crispy rather than soft and bouncy. What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you're using the wrong type of product and perhaps a product that has more hold than you need. When your hair is wet, add a blob of serum to it, this can be one specifically for curly hair or one that just suits your hair type (you will have to experiment to find the right one). For the softest curls you should always leave your hair to dry naturally. Comb it with a wide toothed comb beforehand if you want a bit of shape if you like. If you want to blowdry your hair add serum when the hair is damp, then a flexible mousse or curl cream. Add a diffuser attachment to your hairdryer then blowdry the hair on a medium heat and speed setting. Drop the lengths of your hair into the diffuser cup and gently scrunch until all the hair is dry. Add another blob of serum to the finished look if you think you need it. Avoid using a hairspray if you can as this can leave your curls a little sticky.
