Andrew Barton gives us the goss!

I've been in Cape Town recently shooting a tv commercial for a car company. I’m sworn to secrecy on which company as it’s a brand new launch - all I can say is, it’s the launch of a super sexy new convertible. I was styling the hair of the four girls sat in the car as it sped around Cape Town, it all looked stunning but it was a nightmare for me every time the wind blew the hair in the wrong direction! Oh the glamour…

This week I was also filming the lovely TV show Angela and Friends for Sky 1. I’m the resident hair expert and celeb friend, and we have such a good time on the show along with Michelle Collins, Zoe Salmon and of course the lovely Angela Griffin. I gave all of the girls a bit of the Barton magic, recently turning Zoe Salmon’s brunette locks back to a stunning blonde.

Along with working in my very cool Covent Garden flagship salon where I see my lovely clients, I’ve been busy promoting the launch of my book. That’s right, I’ve written my very own book called Shiny Happy Hair, and it’s launching here at WHSmiths and Waterstone’s as well as the States and Canada.

Lots of charities approach me to help them with various causes, and apart from my regular work with Barnardo’s, The Prince’s Trust and my number one charity British Adoption and Fostering (of which I’m a patron), I’m also heavily involved with my friend John Frieda to promote and raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital through his unique HairRaising charity. If you haven’t heard about this you really should check it out, it’s just a fantastic campaign to be involved with.

So as you can see I’ve been a busy boy, along with glamorous photo shoots for Wonderland magazine, shooting the brand new campaign for Racoon hair extensions and out and about attending a few opening parties. All fun and games but I’m never happier than when I’m working behind the chair making my clients look amazing!
